Property Details

Description
Halliday Homes Collection are delighted to present to the market this magnificent Victorian country house, built by the Earl of Dunmore as the vicarage for the Estate and village of Dunmore, with over 14 acres of private ground.

Erected in 1863, this category B-listed home, sits within beautiful parkland approaching fifteen acres. With a traditionally Scottish appearance, the house is built of stone with steep pitched slate roofs and large bay windows and nestles beautifully within the landscape. In recent years it has been a wedding and events venue and perfectly blends Victorian grandeur with contemporary design, whilst retaining a plethora of original features.

Accommodation
The main accommodation is reached off a large central hallway and includes on the ground floor, five well-proportioned reception rooms, drawing room, formal dining room, sitting room, informal dining room and the gallery room. The kitchen includes Neff appliances and is a spacious and sociable area with a large island. In addition, there is a laundry, two utility rooms, WC, bar, gym, two bedrooms with ensuite facilities and a further bedroom with a shower room conveniently located next door.

The upper floor offers a further eight bedrooms with six enjoying stunning ensuite bath and shower rooms and the remaining two sharing access to a shower room. Two additional rooms are accessed from a separate staircase which would make useful home office space.

Gardens and Grounds
Externally, entered via electric gates, is the tree lined driveway, which extends around the north side of the building providing parking space. The sweeping gardens are mainly laid to lawn with a carefully curated mixture of mature deciduous and evergreen trees and rhododendron bushes. To the south is an area of approximately five acres which could be fenced off to provide a paddock. To the rear of the house is an enclosed, gated courtyard which can be accessed from kitchen, utility room, gym, and gallery room. There is a large, paved patio facing Southwest offering fabulous entertaining space and a paved path leads toward the detached garage now converted to a kitchen and bar with toilets. There is also a timber barbeque hut. The open countryside beyond offers fabulous views over the Firth of Forth to the Ochil Hills and Fife.

The Parsonage is set in about 14.8 acres of beautiful grounds, sheltered by mature woodland and surrounded by open countryside. There are spectacular views to the north over the Firth of Forth to the hills beyond.

Location
The Parsonage is situated close to the rural village of Dunmore within what used to the prosperous Dunmore Estate which lies 6.5 miles southeast of Stirling and 5.5 miles north of Falkirk. The house is situated just off the A905 road on the south bank of the River Forth. The village itself was designated a Conservation Area in the late 1970s.
